This Sunday is Easter Sunday! We will have many ways of celebrating the day including a sunrise service with our neighbors from The Water’s Edge in Ocean Beach, a fundraiser breakfast, our traditional services including a brass quintet, and an Easter egg hunt for children.

Dear friends… As I write this, it’s actually well before this issue of the Beach Breeze is to be released in early May. I’m about to head with Beth on a trip to Palm Springs after a full Easter Sunday. And I’m filled with excitement. There are a number of reasons that I feel excited. Dear friends… It is my hope that each of you are experiencing the season of Lent in profound ways. We continue this month in the exploration of the Gospel of Mark’s telling of the last week Jesus spent in Jerusalem. We’ve considered the contrast between Jesus’ procession into Jerusalem on a donkey and Pilate’s show of force as each came into the city for the Passover festival. We’ve explored the reasoning behind Jesus’ anger in the Temple the following day…

The altar flowers today are given by Al’s family, in celebration of his 90th birthday! All are invited to the social hall for cake after the 2nd service. The GriefShare support group will meet at 1pm in Room 100, next to the nursery. This week’s topic is “Challenges of Grief.” The UMYF will meet next Sunday, March 15, at 5 pm for a meeting and dinner.
