Believe

Believe

Our passage for this Sunday is one that may be familiar to some.  It’s Jesus’ first post-resurrection appearance.  The disciples, understandably afraid, were holed up, locked inside, unsure and uncertain about what would happen next.  Jesus came to them, showed them his wounds and breathed the Holy Spirit upon them.  Thomas, not there at the time, struggled to believe what the other disciples reported.  “I’ll have to see it for myself in order to believe.”  (Hence the nickname “doubting Thomas.”)  But who among us wouldn’t have had the same response?  And who among us hasn’t wrestled with doubt in the midst of our faith and believing?  This Sunday, bring your hope, fear, doubts, struggles…bring it all and come as you are!

Scripture passage:  John 20:19-31
