Too Hot to Handle

Too Hot to Handle

Pentecost is the fiftieth and last day of the Easter Season, the day the church received the gift of the Holy Spirit. It’s considered the “birthday of the church” as the gathered assembly received the Holy Spirit, poured out like “tongues of fire,” allowing each person to hear, speak and understand, despite their different languages.

This Sunday we are delighted to have the Reverend Mark Wiley as our guest preacher Mark and his wife Jan are retired clergy members of our Annual Conference. Mark leads us in a reflection of the ways that the spirit is always breaking out of our expectations, becoming “too hot to handle,” even to this day.
