Set Free

Set Free

This Sunday we return to the Gospel of Luke and spend time with the story of the “bent over woman.”  She’s acquired that label in Christian tradition due to the fact that she was physically bound/bent over for eighteen long years.  As was perhaps her custom, she came to worship on the Sabbath. This time, Jesus engaged her in an extraordinary way.  He ruffled the feathers of the powers-that-be and offered her liberation that was likely beyond her imagination and the imaginations of all who gathered that day.  Join us to hear more about her story and explore what it might mean for us and our world today as we continue to seek freedom from that which binds or diminishes us.

Scripture passage: Luke 13:10-17
