We Believe: Jesus

This week’s focus is the major portion of the creed, focusing on Jesus. Quite a few theological statements are claimed in this central section of the creed. This week we will explore what The Apostles’ Creed claims about Jesus and how these central claims form our faith.

Resurrection People

We have recently celebrated Resurrection! Hallelujah! But how do we do that when our denomination is in turmoil?

We Believe: God

This week we begin a new series on The Apostles’ Creed, one of the earliest statements of the Christian faith. We will explore the opening statement: “I believe in God the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth.” Is it possible that everything we know about the God of the universe is still incomplete?

Jesus Christ Superstar

This Sunday is Easter Sunday! We will have many ways of celebrating the day including a sunrise service with our neighbors from The Water’s Edge in Ocean Beach, a fundraiser breakfast, our traditional services including a brass quintet, and an Easter egg hunt for children.

Interrogation: King Herod

This Sunday’s service will be experienced as Passion Sunday, a somber reflection on the cruelty Jesus experienced in his last few hours before the crucifixion.

Update

I Only Want to Say

This Sunday’s song and text are among the most emotional of Jesus’ ministry. We are reminded us of Jesus’ humanity as he prays about being overwhelmed, about sorrow, and the plea to be spared from what he knows will come.

I Don’t Know How to Love Him

This Sunday’s service explores one of the New Testament’s most enigmatic characters. Mary Magdalene can be found throughout the Gospels and is arguably the most important woman in Jesus’ earthly life – aside from his mother.

Hosanna / Pilate’s Dream

This Sunday, we celebrate Palm Sunday (early) and ask ourselves important questions about our Lenten preparations and about what is worth celebrating in our faith.
