What have you felt like you needed to give up? Maybe it was alcohol or cigarettes. Perhaps it was a toxic significant other who brought out the worst in you. Possibly a TV genre that sucked more life out of you than it poured in. Our scripture passage this week is a little more problematic than vices or ex-boyfriends. Today we ponder a passage that depicts Abraham as having been asked to sacrifice his (non-illegitimate) firstborn son.
