Today’s scripture passage invites us into a reflection on prayer.  In this passage from Luke, Jesus teaches the disciples not only what to pray, but how to pray.  What does it mean to pray in Jesus’ name? And what difference does it make to have prayer woven into the fabric of our lives?

Today we reflect on hospitality through the lens of Mary and Martha. What did Jesus mean when he told Martha that her sister had “chosen the better part” (ouch!) and what is the invitation he extends to his beloved friend, Martha… and to each one of us?  

This week’s scripture passage invites us to reflect on the notion of neighbors!  Who are our neighbors? How are we called to interact with them? How does Jesus put a rather extraordinary spin on these seemingly ordinary questions?

Today is outdoor church! Join use as we gather on this long Independence Day weekend to contemplate how Jesus sends his followers out into the topsy-turvy, sometimes hospitable, sometimes hostile world to be bearers of peace.
