Annual Conference 2016 Report

Annual Conference 2016 Report

Joyful! The 2016 Annual Conference in Redlands, CA, is now complete, and delegates from PB UMC have returned home filled with stories and experiences. Lay members representing PB UMC were Rick C.and Ndinda S., and lay members representing the South District included Scott C. and David D. Additional PB UMC members present included Dee B. and Ana B. who participated in childcare.

The Annual Conference included some of the “norm,” related to the business of the Conference. Items included the annual budget, nominations, compensation standards, and care for our retired clergy members. A number of other items were considered, including a response to the violence in Orlando, a resolution in support of the Council of Bishop’s report (“A Way Forward” from General Conference), and a call for non-conformity with the Book of Discipline on matters related to human sexuality. A full list of items addressed as well as most voting results can be found on the Conference Secretary’s website at the button below.
