Consider Your Call

This week’s text takes a number of twists and turns and seems to conflate wisdom and foolishness. Could it be possible that Paul is suggesting that we are called to foolishness?

Same Mind & Same Purpose

In the text for this Sunday, Paul very clearly addresses the reality of division in the church. As members and participants in a United Methodist Church, we may find this particularly poignant today. Yet, Paul reminds his readers that we belong to Christ.

You Are Not Lacking

This week’s text is the introduction to Paul’s first letter to the church in Corinth. Paul identifies himself and expresses gratitude. In doing so, Paul reminds his audience of our unity in Christ Jesus.

Well Pleased

As we begin a new year and new century, we explore the beginning of Jesus’ ministry. As we consider Matthew’s text in Sunday’s worship, note the opening of the heavens, the presence of the Spirit of God, and the voice from the heavens.

The Journey to Joy

Jesus’ parents present him at the temple, they offer a sacrifice, and a priest and a prophet revel at Jesus’ presence.

Creativity in Action

In the face of weakened values and faltering structures, ninistry candidate Lea Booth invites us to consider how we can become co-creators in bringing about God’s vision and dream for the world.

Living

Chaplain Mark Jones explores how Jesus moves from a question about the afterlife to challenge listeners’ perception of who God is and what it means to trust God.
