We are spending the month of May in the Book of Acts and this week we encounter a text that will likely feel peculiar and possibly even irrelevant to many. Peter has a dream that (spoiler alert) involves “flying pigs.” It challenges his thinking AND the thinking of many about eating foods that were off limits in Jewish tradition. What did this event mean for the early church and how might the Spirit move through this text, bringing guidance and inspiration to us, the church today?
