How to Read the Same Book and Leave With Two Different Conclusions
It is no secret that Jews and Christians hold different interpretations of the same sacred texts—the Hebrew Bible and the Old Testament. Biblical scholars Amy-Jill Levine and Marc Zvi Brettler have assembled ten of the most prominent examples of divergent Biblical interpretation. Using historical, literary, and theological lenses, they skillfully weave a tapestry of modern interpretations for lay people.
This Lent we will read six more chapters from The Bible With And Without Jesus, meeting on Zoom on Monday evenings at 6:30 pm starting February 19th. Please pick up a copy of the book in preparation. You can get a copy from Cokesbury or Amazon.
