Sandy Recovery Mission Trip

Sandy Recovery Mission Trip

The South District of the California-Pacific Annual (Regional) Conference of the United Methodist Church is sponsoring a mission trip this fall to Crisfield, Maryland – an area devastated by Hurricane Sandy in 2012.

From September 26-October 3, 2015, a team of up to 30 members from churches in our area and friends will travel to Crisfield, MD, to offer our support. Team members will be working with the Delaware Peninsula’s Annual Conference’s disaster recovery services to help families who cannot afford to repair or rebuild their homes on their own. Teams from all over the country have gone to this area to help with cleaning up.

Our team of volunteers will arrive just one month before the 3rd anniversary of Hurricane Sandy’s landfall in the Northeastern United States. Hurricane Sandy was the deadliest and most destructive tropical cyclone of the 2012 Atlantic hurricane season, as well as the second-costliest hurricane in United States history.
