The PB UMC annual “Fun in the Sun” picnic will take place Sunday, August 26th, at our usual Vacation Isle spot (the southwestern area of Paradise Point).
By request, we are returning to having the event catered by our caterers of four years ago, Abbey’s Real Texas BBQ on Miramar Road (www.abbeystexasbbq.com). We will have plenty of pulled pork, brisket, chicken and vegetarian dishes. As always, we will be grateful if any of our home cooks want to bring their own desserts or other picnic items.
Our other volunteer needs are as follows:
- Trucks to transport church canopies, tables, and chairs from the church to the picnic site and back at the conclusion of the event.
- Loading the church items and unloading/setting up at the picnic site. (Meet at the church the morning of the picnic at 8:30 am.)
- Checking in attendees and providing name tags. (Be at picnic site by 11:30 am.)
- Breaking down church items, loading them onto transport, and unloading and storing them at the church (around 3:00 pm).

Cost of attending is: Adults: $20 Seniors/children: $15 Family price: $40
The picnic almost always operates at a small loss, so any extra contributions towards picnic expenses will be greatly appreciated.
The picnic will begin around noon, and we will begin cleaning up and breaking down around 3:00 p.m. Sign-ups to attend will begin on Sunday, July 22nd, and will continue until the Sunday before the picnic (August 19th).
