The friendliness of Pacific Beach UMC begins with coffee and cookies. As worship ends, we’ll put a hot cup in your hands and begin to get acquainted. Visiting time spills out into our courtyard as people catch up with each other on the events of the week.

All Church Picnic
Every year we choose a summer Sunday for our annual picnic at Mission Bay. Lunch is catered and the church family gathers for fun and relaxation.

Interested members are divided into groups of seven and over a period of four months, they meet monthly for a meal and fellowship. Whether a simple dinner in a member's home, or a potluck in the park, Dinners for Seven is a great way to get to know other church members.
The United Methodist Women meet quarterly for a meal and a program. The group also works together in support of local and world-wide mission projects.
Each Saturday morning at 9 a.m., men of the church gather for donuts, coffee, Bible Study, and prayer. Every summer, when PB UMC worships or picnics outside the men barbeque hot dogs and burgers. They are also famous for their Easter morning pancake breakfast.
Softball
PB UMC sports its own softball team, Swing And A Prayer, that plays in a city league. This program is a fun way to spend time with other church members as well as be out in the community meeting other players and their families.
Both short and long-term Bible study groups allow people to get to know one another in the course of studying the scripture. Classes for all ages meet on Sunday mornings and at other times during the week. Currently, many of our learning opportunities take place on the first Thursday of every month at an event called FEAST (Friends Eating and Sharing Together). Dinner and a guest speaker is followed by groups and classes. The program runs from 6 to 8 p.m. For information on current offerings, sign up for our monthly newsletter or contact the church.
Families are drawn together by the children’s Christmas play, the nursery & Sunday School program, the Easter egg hunt, the occasional backyard picnic and much loved family camp at Camp Cedar Glen (see video above)!
